On the 18th we drove the Mapels to the airport and got back into Fayette just in time for the Christmas parade. It was freezing cold, so we parked right down the street and stayed in the van until the parade was about to begin. It was a really, really short parade and only about 100 people were there because it was so cold. The kids were getting piles and piles of candy dropped at their feet. And then the parade looped around and came down the street 2 more times!! We had SO much candy! So, later in the week we used it to make gingerbread houses.
I had also told the kids that we could have a movie night and that they could sleep in the living room with the Christmas tree.
