I got a waffle iron the other day, and now I need a good recipe for waffles. I looked some up online and tried one, but I wasn't too impressed with it and I don't want to waste my time trying recipe after recipe. What I want is a whole wheat recipe with substitutions like applesauce instead of oil. Anyone happen to have one like that? And I want them to turn out nice and crispy on the outside. Do you have to beat the egg whites and fold them in to get them to turn out like that? Any advice would be so appreciated!
Another thing I need some advice about: I want to start working out with workout videos. The only time that I can workout is at night or while the kids are around and lately I just don't feel like going out when it's dark and cold at night. Anyone have any "favorites". More importantly, do you have any I could borrow and try out? I might go to the library sometime and see if they have any.
Thanks in advance!

I have pilates (winsor) and power yoga if you are interested in trying out either one. They would be cheap to mail.
Do you do netflix? They have some as well. I actually have a bellydancing one that I thought I lost in the mail. I will mail it back eventually! I like Tae bo... it kicks my booty.
All I know about substituting applesauce in recipes is that you can substitute it straight across for the oil. So if the recipe calls for 1/3 cup oil use 1/4 cup applesauce. I should use a whole wheat recipe for waffles, but I like the recipe on the Bisquick box. It makes them crisp on the outside..but maybe that's because of the oil in it?! Let me know if you try it.
Turbo Jam baby. I pulled it out after a few months of not doing it (I gotta have variety) and I couldn't twist my abs all the next day. It's one of my favs because I always feel like it works.
Duh, 1/3cup for 1/3cup. My stoopid analogy made NO sense. I'm sure you get it. You're smart.
I use Bisquick for waffles but if you get a good suggestion let us all know! And it sounds corny but I like 8 min abs, arms, legs. I do it quick when the kids are napping. But I do supplement with jogging.
Thanks for the comments! I think I'll try the whole wheat recipe that I already tried, but instead of putting applesauce (which I did originally) I'll just go for the oil! And I checked my library's online catalog and they have a good selection of workout videos, so I'm gonna go check some out tomorrow. I plan on getting each of the ones you guys suggested!
I've been thinking about getting "Sweating to the Oldies" because I think Elizabeth would like to do it with me...then I look at our small living room and all the toys on the floor...and head to the kitchen instead.
Oh, and as far as waffeles, if you want a fun dessert you can get a cake mix and make a cake waffle thing and have it warm with ice cream... but that is really not good for you. I forget exactly how to do it, but I think if you look up cake waffels or chocolate waffles or something you can find it somewhere. Also there are a lot of recipes for chocolate waffles. Can you tell I am craving dessert!
